The pekoe trail

Organize Your Event on the Pekoe Trail

Host with Purpose. Hike with Care.

The Pekoe Trail isn’t just a hiking route

it’s a shared journey through private lands, tea estates, forests, and local communities who have generously opened their gates to responsible travelers. Whether you’re planning a guided group trek, wellness retreat, fundraiser, or even a filming project, we welcome your interest—but all organized or commercial use must be approved in advance.

Our trail agreements with private landowners, Regional Plantation Companies (RPCs), local communities, and conservation partners are built on trust. These agreements allow public access as long as events are respectful, low-impact, and aligned with sustainable tourism practices. Unapproved events can risk that trust—and the future of the trail itself.

If you’re organizing any of the following, you’ll need prior approval from The Pekoe Trail Organization:
    • Corporate events, retreats, and team-building
    • Fundraisers, races, and large group activities
    • Filming, photography, and drone use for commercial purposes

Guidelines for Tour Operators

Tour companies and guides must:

  • Pay an event fee – This helps fund conservation and trail maintenance.
  • Use trained guides – Registered, knowledgeable guides are essential.
  • Keep group sizes manageable – Groups of 25 or more must notify us in advance
  • Unauthorized tours may face penalties or suspension from trail access.

Hosting an Event or Fundraiser?

If you’re planning a group activity, fundraiser, or wellness event:

  • Apply at least 30 days in advance.
  • Follow environmental and community guidelines.
  • Avoid high-impact setups like motor vehicles or amplified sound.
  • Secure permissions if the route crosses private or restricted lands.

Filming & Commercial Content Production

The Pekoe Trail is a spectacular backdrop—but it’s also home to people, wildlife, and sacred places. If you’re planning a shoot:

  • Get a permit first – Including for drone use.
  • Respect privacy – No filming of people or religious sites without consent.
  • Use low-impact methods – Minimal gear, minimal disruption.
  • Credit the Trail – Tag and promote responsibly.

Submit your event or activity by contacting us directly at [email protected] for more information. We’re happy to help you plan a meaningful experience that respects the spirit of the trail.

The Pekoe Trail is for everyone. Let’s keep it beautiful, accessible, and sustainable together.
